Mission Statement
The Atlanta Police Department's goal is to protect and maintain the city's quality of life and prevent crime. The department is organized into specialized units and teams, staffed by full-time officers who manage calls for service and work with the community to solve problems.
Expectations
Officers must show respect, sensitivity and sound judgment, along with strong interpersonal skills. Applicants complete the APD academy and a probationary period with a Field Training Officer before working solo patrol.
